If you ever wanted to run for council, now's your chance.
There is a vacant seat on Grand Valley Town Council there with the departure of Sam Pringle.
According to Mayor Steve Soloman, Pringle had changed jobs and wasn't able to keep his committment to council.
Soloman says they are big shoes to fill, and that he was very well liked.
He says they chose the route of appointing someone to the position over holding an election because it would be less costly.
Those who are interested just have to be a resident of Grand Valley and age 18 or over, with an interest in dipping into municipal politics.
An application can be picked up at the town office, and has to be turned in by October 1st.
A special council meeting will be held October 3rd to choose the new councillor.
