Westario officials are shedding some light on where the utility is and where it might be going in the future.
Westario board chair George Bridge tells Kincardine councillors the utility is poised to take advantage of the future stating they're doing surveys with their partners and shareholders, asking municipalities where they think they see themselves in five years time.
President & CEO David Leonce suggests, "Today it's poles and wires but tomorrow it might be something else so we also must be forward looking."
For those interested in numbers, Westario has 10,000 poles in its grid holding up 550 Km of power lines, serving well over 23,000 customers in the region.
Leonce says the "Provincial government thus far, has not impacted the utility. I think they are friendly to community utilities like ours."
The road tour will continue with visits to Saugeen Shores, Hanover and South Bruce in October.
They've already made stops in Brockton, North Huron and Kincardine.
