All Candidates Meeting Focuses on Agriculture

Five Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound candidates to debate rural and ag issues in Keady tonight.

Those vying to be the next MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound will square off in another All Candidates Meeting tonight.

The Grey and Bruce County Federations of Agriculture are set to co-host the debate at the Keady Community Centre from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Spokeperson Jackie Pennings says five of the six candidates in the riding have confirmed their attendance: Conservative

Alex Ruff, Liberal Michael Den Tandt, New Democrat Chris Stephen, Green Danielle Valiquette and Bill Townsend of the People's Party.

Pennings notes the meeting will focus on rural and agricultural issues, such as transportation infrastructure, broadband internet and trade disruptions.

The first half of the evening features prepared questions for candidates to be debated. It will open up to allow questions to be submitted to the moderator from those in attendance during the latter half of the night.
