A grant is being given to an Orangeville manufacturer to make improvements to operations and create jobs.
$5.6 million dollars will be given to E. Hofmann Plastics from FedDev Ontario.
The company will be producing the first ever in Canada recyclable and compostable tray for meat packing and recyclable coffee pods made from plant based resins.
The money will also help the company get state of the art robotic technologies that will increase efficiency all while reducing energy usage.
They will be able to extend their sustainable packaging line to meet market demand.
The money will help grow the staff there from 185 employees, to include 25 more full time engineering jobs.
