Orillia | by Ian MacLennan

Five deaths in a span of 15 hours investigated by OPP in Central Region.

OPP in Central Region investigated five fatalities in just over 15 hours during the Labour Day weekend and police are asking people to use care while driving, whether it's a car, a boat or an ATV.

Sgt Jason Folz says in the fatalities at the weekend,  one or more factors were at play,  including distracted driving,  aggressive driving,  impaired by alcohol or drugs and not using a proper safety restraint.

Folz says remove distractions.

He says the text can wait,  slow down because you are not saving that much time,  say no to alcohol and drugs,  especially if you are planning on driving, and use a proper safety restraint.

Three people were killed in two separate collisions in Clearview Township,  there was another fataility near Loretto, and a three year old was killed in an ATV accident in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
