Port Carling Midday Madness A Fun Success

Port Carling | by Matt Sitler

There were 12 musicians throughout the village complimenting this year’s Midday Madness and a face painter too....

By all accounts, the 2nd Annual Port Carling Midday Madness this past Saturday was a great success.

Muskoka Lakes Chamber of Commerce GM Norah Fountain tells Country 102 that some retailers said it was the best day they had all season…. (above audio)

Fountain says people boated and drove in from both the Lake Rosseau and Lake Muskoka sides.

She says she’s never seen so many cars parked above the hill past That Blue Tub and Hazlewood Trails, which was also a great indication of the event’s popularity. A shuttle to help bring people across town might be in the works for next year.

Fountain says it will be important to survey all businesses that were involved to see how they felt about the day, which will help determine the future of the event.

She also thanked the day’s two main sponsors - the Township of Muskoka Lakes and Chestnut Park Real Estate.

There were 12 musicians throughout the village complimenting this year’s Midday Madness and a face painter too.

“I’d love to hear from store owners as there were so many businesses involved,” said Fountain. “It was a really fun day.”
