West Grey Police are launching a partnership with Medic Alert they say can save lives by reducing the time it takes to find a missing vulnerable person.

Police say the 'MedicAlert Connect Protect' program will help officers who are looking for or interacting with vulnerable who are living with things like autism, dementia, Alzheimer’s or brain injuries.

The Medic Alert Connect Protect program gives police twenty-four hour access to a registered MedicAlert subscriber’s emergency profile which includes their photo, and other identifying information as well as any wandering history.

It will also provide their caregiver's information and any behaviour management strategies that may help in dealing with specific anxiety triggers.

West Grey Police and MedicAlert will host a registration and information day on August 28th,  2019 from 9a.m. to 2:30p.m. on Garafraxa Street South in Durham in front of the RBC Royal Bank.
