The 2nd annual Gran Fondo Lake Huron in Saugeen Shores has surpassed everyone's goals.
One-thousand bikers and a record $170,000 raised for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF), to help buy equipment for the Southampton facility.
Foundation Board Chair Mary Jo Arnett says it was a labour of love by those who took part, including bikers, sponsors and the hundreds of volunteers that made the event a success.
You don't have to convince Aaron Legge who took on the longest route at 160K.
He says he'll be back next year, adding it was a great ride taking you to Sauble Beach and then over to Tiverton for some challenging hills.
Doug Flowers, part of the "Tour de Friends" group chose the 30K route this year saying he was impressed with the beautiful countryside.
Flowers was a part of a team of 28 riders who raised the most as a team at just over $17,000.
