The 18th annual Bruce Power Charity Golf Tournament raised $115,000 for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation.
The tournament, which was held Friday, Aug, 9 at Saugeen Golf Club saw 180 golfers participating and has raised more than $2.5 million since its 2011 inception.
“We appreciate the generosity and ongoing support of Bruce Power and all of the businesses which come to take part in the Bruce Power Charity Golf Tournament,” said Mary-Jo Arnett, Chair of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation. “This support helps ensure our local hospitals have the equipment necessary to provide excellent health care in our community to treat you, your friends, your family and your neighbours when you need it most. As the fundraising hub of our local hospital, we bridge the gap between the funding provided by the government and the needs of our community.”
Bruce Power says the company’s suppliers and local businesses played a role in the success of the event.
President of the Kincardine Community Health Care Foundation, Becky Fair says “over the years, the proceeds from this tournament support the health-care needs of our communities with much-needed medical equipment. We could not do this without the dedication of companies like Bruce Power.”
“We are thrilled to be a part of this special day and thank the participants, sponsors and volunteers for generously donating their money and time.”
