Public Meeting On Hotel, Store, Restaurant Plans

Owen Sound | by Claire McCormack

The city is asking for comments on planned retail and service development east of Home Depot.

From City Report

A public meeting is being held tonight at Owen Sound City Hall to discuss a proposed development in the big box store area on the city's east side.

The city is going through the planning process for adding more services at the Heritage grove plaza, east of Home Depot.

The developer, Heritage Grove Centre Inc., wants to build a four-storey, 75 room hotel, gas bar and convenience store with a quick service restaurant with a drive thru.

The proposal also includes six restaurants in three detached buildings, each with a patio.

The community is invited to share comments this evening at 7 (Aug 12) at council chambers in City Hall.
