Sauble Beach | by Claire McCormack

Events include a sandcastle competition, beer tent, Sauble's Got Talent and live music.

The finest sandcastle builders around will battle to be the best on Sauble Beach this weekend while performers will compete for their own title onstage.

Sauble Sandfest is set to take place at Sauble Beach this Saturday (August 10th).

Mayor Janice Jackson says at 8 a.m. the pro sandcastle building contest gets underway. "They build spectacular sancdcastles and they leave them there for the whole weekend and they're really something to see."

At 8:30 a.m. the general public can register for a sand sculpture competition.

Sauble's Got Talent will also be held from 12 to 3 p.m. where musicians and performers will compete against one another in a talent show. People with all kinds of talents can compete, not just musicians.

After that, there will be a beer garden and ongoing live music until 11 p.m. featuring DJ Ron Allan, The Beresfords, Greg Cockerill, The Commoners, and Conor Gains.

There will be a big classic car show, kids play zone and face painting.

On Sunday, (Aug 11th) an 8 kilometre race along the shoreline to raise money for rare blood disorders at Sick Kids Hospital is set to take place at 8 a.m.

The Sauble Family Christian Church is holding Church On The Beach at 11a.m.
