West Grey has joined other Ontario communities by declaring a climate change emergency.
This was prompted after a local group of residents urging for the declaration to be made was heeded by council.
In a press release West Grey Mayor Christine Robinson said. "With this declaration we are signalling our commitment to the environment and our commitment to future generations. West Grey will continue to do its part."
Other areas like Grey Highlands have made similar moves in recent months.
Robinson also highlighted some of the current initiatives happening in the community with LED lights in municipal buildings as well as recycling areas of road.
