The Ontario government made an announcement today about its autism program.
Minister of Children, Community and Social Services Todd Smith says the province will be expanding the scope of the autism expert panel.
The hope is to provide advice on what a new needs-based and sustainable autism program would look like.
The government says they will extend existing behaviour plans and also continue to bring children off the waitlist.
Smith said in his message that families of children and youth with autism "we have heard you, and we are taking action".
The new needs-based autism program is supposed to be fully ready by April of next year.
