Opioid Overdose in Tim Horton's Drive-Thru

Naloxone was used to revive the 34-year old Port Elgin man

Saugeen Shores Police had to administer Naloxone to an unresponsive Port Elgin Man after he lost control of his vehicle at a Tim Horton’s Drive-Thru.

On Sunday (July 21) police were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision near the Canadian Tire Gas bar in Port Elgin. 

Police say a 34 year old male driver fell unconscious in the Tim Horton’s drive-thru and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle accelerated out of the drive through down a small hill, over landscaping rock and finally stopping on a boulevard at the Canadian Tire Gas bar.

When officers arrived on scene and located a male in the driver’s seat who was unresponsive.  An officer had to deploy a dose of Naloxone, used for opioid overdoses, in an attempt to revive him.  Paramedics arrived on scene and the male eventually regained consciousness and was transported to the hospital.

The man was arrested in hospital for Officers for Operation a vehicle while impaired – drugs. 

He was treated by medical staff and released from hospital and has received a court date.
