Suspicious death in Orillia

Orillia woman found injured Friday morning.

On Friday July 19, 2019 at approximately 5:50 a.m. the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with County of Simcoe Paramedic Services and the Orillia Fire Department responded to a report of an injured person outside a Davey Street residence in the City of Orillia.

A female victim was located and transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as Tracey REID, 45-years-old of Orillia. A post mortem examination will be conducted at the‎ Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Services in Toronto at a later date.

The investigation into this death is continuing by the Orillia OPP Crime Unit and Central Region Forensic Identification Services, under the direction of Detective Inspector Chris Landry of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
