An alleged drunk driving incident in Auburn this week, has left a child with serious injuries and the driver charged.
Huron OPP tell Country 104.9 News that the two year-old victim was among several passengers in a van being driven through the village on Tuesday night.
Police say the unsecured child fell through the open hatch in the rear of the moving vehicle.
Paramedics assessed the toddler, who was sent to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
A 30 year-old Goderich woman is charged with impaired driving cause bodily harm, and driving while being over the legal blood-alcohol limit.
OPP have impounded the van, and the accused's licence has been suspended for 90 days.
