There's a Race for Bruce County Warden

Bruce County | by John Divinski

Incumbent Mitch Warden will run against Kincardine Mayor and county councillor Anne Eadie

It looks like we'll have a race for Bruce County Warden to serve in 2020.

Current Warden and Mayor of Huron Kinloss Mitch Twolan is going after his 6th one-year term since 2007 saying there is still much to do, such as the continuing development of the Nuclear Innovation Institute; the skilled trades secretariat and the hydrogen project just to name a few.

Twolan also served as Warden in 2007, and from 2015 to 2017 and is currently serving as an acclaimed Warden for 2019.

Kincardine Mayor and county councillor Anne Eadie is also going after the chair next year.

Eadie says with her 15 years of experience in rural and urban politics--having served on councils in Huron Kinloss and Kincardine--she feels the time is right for her to provide some friendly competition for the current serving warden.

Both made their announcements at the council meeting held at the Huron Kinloss town offices, home of the present Warden.

The election for Warden won't happen until December and all other county councillors can declare their intentions anytime before the election.

The Warden is chosen by the 8 county councillors.
