Positive unemployment numbers in June for the region that includes Grey and Bruce counties.
The Four County Labour Market Planning Board says the jobless rate for the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula economic region fell to 3.4 per cent -- a drop of 1.3 percentage points from May.
The local economy added 8,500 jobs last month, with 7,000 of those being full-time.
The accommodation and food services, whole and retail trade and healthcare/social assistance sectors saw the most job gains.
The labour market planning board says the manufacturing and agriculture sectors shaved the most jobs.
The unemployment rate in Ontario also ticked lower in June, falling to 5.6 per cent; Nationally, it edged higher to 5.5 per cent.
