The South Bruce Grey Health Centre Board of Directors has a new chair.

Board member John Gilbert replaces Larry Allison.

Allison just finished his 3rd year as chair of the board and will now stay on for an additional year as past chair.

He says he feels good about his 3 years as chair stating, he believes the "Organization is in really good shape overall.  We've made substantial investments in all our sites."

Allison cautions however, the challenges never end and "monitoring our fiscal pressures going forward is going to be significant."

He says the board has worked hard in the past year-and-a-half at controlling their budgets and he believes it will take another 18-months to get the board back into a balanced position.

Allison says, in addition the new chair will have to lead SBGHC directors in its continuing quest to bring about redevelopment at the Kincardine Hospital but not at the expense of the other facilities.

Besides Gilbert being named Chair for 2019-20, Leslie Hastie was elected vice-chair.

SBGHC serves hospitals in Kincardine, Chesley, Walkerton and Durham.
