Kelso Beach Park in Owen Sound will be bustling today with plenty of festivities planned to celebrate Canada's 152nd birthday.
All the activities including music, food and family entertainment begin at 4 p.m. and the celebrations culminate with fireworks over the bay at 10 p.m.
Performances on the amphitheatre stage at Kelso Beach kick-off at 4 p.m. with Dickie Bird. The Owen Sound City Band will play at 5 p.m. then Beggars Road at 6:10 p.m. Local dignitaries will make remarks on stage at 7:30 p.m. The final musical act is The Great Canadian Duelling Pianos and it begins at 7:45 p.m.
There is also plenty of activities for kids on the grounds at Kelso Beach on Canada Day, including dog skill shows put on by Four Paws Flying Entertainment and a race track provided by Scouts Canada where kids can design, build and race their own wooden cars.
The city advises parking is available outside the fence at Kelso Beach, with additional spots at Keystone Child, Youth & Family Services on 3rd Avenue West and the Owen Sound Medical Centre on 1st Avenue West.
