West Grey Police have laid charges in relation to a fatal collision near Markdale last month that claimed the life of a motorcyclist.

Police say a 41-year-old Glenelg woman has been charged with criminal negligence causing death. She is being held in custody for a bail hearing in Walkerton today.

A 36-year-old West Grey man died in hospital from his injuries days after being airlifted to a trauma centre following the May 29 crash between the motorcycle he had been driving and a Hummer on West Back Line, north of Grey Road 12.

West Grey Police said at the time it was believed the two parties knew each other and were treating the collision as suspicious.

The 41-year-old female driving the Hummer, who now faces charges, suffered minor injuries in the collision.

Police have not named the victim or accused.
