Stand-Up Paddleboard Tours Will Explore Lake Huron Coastline

Regional | by Fadi Didi

Four tours planned to educate, support Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation

You can hit the waters of Lake Huron this summer, while learning about the coastline and helping a non-profit group.

The Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation has partnered with Sunset SUP for four stand-up paddleboard tours down the coastline, starting in Goderich.

Proceeds from the tours will benefit the Lake Huron Centre.

Depending on the wind, Coastal Stewardship Coordinator Daniela Klicper says tours will head either north or south along the shoreline.

Safety lessons and equipment will be provided to newcomers wanting to take part.

Klicper says the tour will discuss conservation issues impacting coastal ecosystems, and a break will be taken on a beach for a snack, which is included.

She tells Country 104.9 News the tour will give patrons firsthand experience as to how high water levels are affecting the Lake Huron Coastline.

The stand-up paddleboard tours run June 29th, July 20th, August 10th, and August 31st.

You can visit The Yoga Den or the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation (on Courthouse Square, in Goderich) to take part.
