Lions and Lady Mustangs Win Openers

OFSAA " A-AA " Girls Rugby

at Durham City

The CWOSSA Champion Grey Highlands Lions defeated Georges Vanier 53-10 on Day 1.

The St Mary's Lady Mustangs also won their opening match as they upset the # 4 seed Frontenac 12-5.

Ally Ullett scored two tries while Ruby Moffat kicked a convert for St Mary's

Both the Lions who are the # 6 seed and the Lady Mustangs who are seeded 13th will play their second games of the tournament at 9 am this morning.

The Lions will go against Lakeshore Catholic while the Lady Mustangs face Courtice

If they win their matches, Grey Highlands & St Mary's will play again at 1 pm


 

Owen Sound District Secondary School is hosting the OFSAA Boys " AAA " Lacrosse tournament at the Kiwanis Complex in Owen Sound tomorrow & Thursday.

12 schools are competing including the Owen Sound District Wolves who are in Pool B with Humberside & Maxwell Heights

The Wolves open at 9:30 tomorrow morning against Maxwell Heights

Netminder Garrett Reid is the Brian E. Wood-Bug Juice NorthStar Player of the Week,

Reid was excellent in a 6-5 win over Six Nations on Sunday afternoon in Owen Sound.

The Bug Juice Senior NorthStars have 2 games this week; Friday night at home to KW and then Saturday night at Ennismore.

Collingwood, May 30, 2019 - BYR is excited to announce that Van Dolder's Home Team will be joining Ben Young Racing for Title Sponsor for the 2nd round of Canadian Superbike Championships being held at Grand Bend Motorsports Park, June 7th / 9th.

Grand Bend has been a successful track for him in the past. Talking with him about Van Dolder's Custom Exteriors Home Team joining the team, Ben stated, "I'm very excited for the coming weekend at Grand Bend, I cannot thank Van Dolder's enough for joining us as Title Sponsor for this event and I'm looking forward to giving them 110% on and off the track. In my day job, swinging a hammer with Scot-Build, Van Dolder's Home Team have been supplying us with great service and products for quite a time now. It'll be fun seeing them and having them involved at the race track too!"
