Huron Women's Shelter Benefits From Federal Grant

Shelter receives over $248 thousand to address rising demand.

The Huron Women's Shelter, Second Stage Housing and Counselling Services is benefiting from a federal grant for women's organizations across Canada.

The Government of Canada is investing close to $1.7 million in nine women's organizations and Indigenous organizations serving women in southwestern Ontario.

Officials with the Huron Women's Shelter say they have received $248,622 to grow their capacity, due to rising demand.

Work being planned at the shelter includes addressing gaps in policy, programs, processes, human resources, management, funding, and communications.
