It’s time to celebrate the arts in Walkerton.
The annual Juried Art Show which kicks off tonight and runs until June 1st.
The basement in the Walkerton Library has been transformed into a beautiful art gallery showcasing the works of local talent from across the region.
Spokesperson and volunteer Jenny Iserman says there is much to take in at the annual Juried Art Show.
The Juried Art Show is an annual exhibition that provides local artist from across Bruce and Grey Counties the opportunity to showcase their talents and compete for over a thousand dollars prizes.
All of the work is judged in a range of categories including: painting, work on paper, photography, material arts, 3-Dimensional, and youth.
The Awards Ceremony is taking place this evening at 7 pm, where the public will have a chance to rub shoulders with the artists.
The show runs straight from now until to June 1st and the art gallery hours coincide with regular Walkerton Library Hours.
Admission is absolutely free, and the public is encouraged to come out and take in the works of art and even cast a ballot for their favourite piece.
A Popular Vote Award will be handed out at the end of the art exhibit in June.
Iserman says there is no shortage of beauty or talent and she hopes the public takes advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
