If you are a parent or grandparent of a senior public elementary school student, your teen will be finding out today (Thursday) what a future in the trades might be like.
The 4th annual Simcoe Muskoka Skilled Trades Expo is being held at the Elmvale Community Arena. There are two sessions. One is for Grade 8 students to visit hands-on demonstrations and interactive displays. That's from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A second session is for the general public, high school students and job seekers to come from 5 to 7 P.M. to meet representatives from local trades businesses.
The 2018 expo helped introduce 26 hundred students to more than 35 skilled trades and more than 200 people took in the job fair.
