Shelburne | by Phil DeLand

Officials with the Shelburne Police presented their annual report Monday night.

Shelburne's police force continues to rank among the best police forces in the province.

Members of the service including Chief Kent Moore and Constable Paul Neumann were on hand for the presentation Monday night.

During the presentation, officials explained that the total number of impaired drivers charged by SPS officers rose from 17 in 2017 to 23 in 2018.

There were 124 motor vehicle collisions in 2018 which is down from 129 in 2017.

SPS also ranks near or at the top in a number of categories when compared to other police services.

Shelburne's force is 1st when it comes to Weighted Clearance Rate, something Chief Moore says he and everybody on the force takes great pride in.
