A driver just wouldn't stop for police near Angus and then Wasaga Beach on the weekend.

On Saturday afternoon (1 P.M.) an OPP officer located a BMW after complaints came in about a vehicle on County Road 90 driving dangerously and having mechanical issues.

The officer tried to stop the vehicle which was now on Brentwood Drive. The driver kept going at a high speed towards Wasaga Beach.

There was a short police chase which was called off by officers because of the threat to public safety.

Officers from the Huronia West OPP detachment found the vehicle on Highway 26 and tried to stop it, but it again fled from police.

Police got a licence plate number which turns out is not for the suspect vehicle.

OPP are asking the public to help identify the man and woman in the car whose photos were captured by video surveillance from a local business.  The vehicle is a silver four door BMW.

And police are urging the man who was driving to turn himself in.
