Gran Fondo Lake Huron has a new in-kind sponsor and it fits like a glove.
Martin's Bike Shop has joined for the second year in a row.
Brett Martin, owner of the bike shop in Southampton says being a part of the Gran Fondo is a natural, supporting a great cause.
Martin says the fundraising event is "Great for the hospital and great for the community."
He says the more people getting out on bikes and enjoying the experience, it becomes a "win-win."
Martin's Bike Shop is committed to $5,000 worth of in-kind support.
Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation Executive Director Tracy Murray says they're approaching the 370 mark for participants and now's the time to register.
She says, those signed up have beat the price increase for registration and there's still time for you to do so as well.
Prices will go up slightly after the May holiday weekend coming up.
By the way, if you don't have a bike but want to take in the Gran Fondo, Martin's Bike Shop has that covered as well.
Brett says they will rent bikes for the Gran Fondo weekend or just the day of the event, August 18th.
Also, through the Southampton and Hanover bike clubs, they will be organizing free group rides in the summer that will cover the routes so you can get an idea of what the routes have to offer.
