Three Arrested In Port Elgin

An off-duty officer recognized a man wanted on a number of warrants.

Saugeen Shores Police have arrested three people after an off-duty officer recognized a man wanted on a number of warrants.

Police say on Saturday (May4th) at about 7:40 p.m. the off-duty officer noticed the man outside the Port Elgin LCBO and alerted on-duty police.

They say they spotted him in a vehicle, with two women, driving on Goderich St.
A vehicle stop was conducted at Highway 21 and Carlisle St.

The man was arrested without incident.

According to police, the woman driving the vehicle was seen in the LCBO before the vehicle stop.

Police say one of her conditions from a previous charge was to not be in any LCBO. She was arrested as a result.

Officers observed evidence of drug possession and alcohol consumption. All occupants were arrested for possession of controlled substance.

A further search of the vehicle revealed several individually wrapped packages of crystal meth.

36 year old man from Cambridge has been charged with:
1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – crystal methamphetamine
2. Being unlawfully at large
3. Fail to comply with probation – keep the peace and be of good behaviour
4. Fail to comply with probation – fail to attend intermittent jail sentence
5. Fail to comply with a recognizance of bail – possession of alcohol

36 year old woman from Bruce County has been charged with:
1. Fail to comply with an officer in charge undertaking
2. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – crystal methamphetamine

39 year old woman from Bruce County has been charged with:
1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – crystal methamphetamine

All were held for a bail hearing.
