Goderich Man Charged, Following Assault On Officer

OPP say suspect attempted to flee from officers in Goderich, drugs seized during arrest.

A 37 year old man has been charged, after allegedly assaulting an officer in Goderich.

OPP say they stopped a suspect Tuesday along Kingston Street, who immediately attempted to flee from officers.

After police caught the suspect, reports say a search turned up fentanyl, methamphetamine, and the tranquilizer clonazepam. 

In addition to drug possession, police say the suspect also assaulted an officer who was guarding him.

A Goderich man is facing seven charges, including possession of fentanyl for the purposes of trafficking, assault peace officer, and two counts of fail to comply with probation order.
