Carfentanil Confirmed After March Arrest

Health Canada confirmed the narcotic found on a man in Hanover was Carfentanil.

South Bruce OPP say a 27 year old Brockton man was found in possession of Carfentanil.

The man was arrested on March 12, 2019 in Hanover, after police say a member of the South Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) observed a male wanted on South Bruce Warrants. At the time he was charged with possession and failure to comply with recognizance.

OPP says a quantity of suspected narcotic was found during the March arrested, which was sent for additional testing to Health Canada.

On Friday, April 26, 2019, Health Canada confirmed and identified the narcotic as Carfentanil.
