Khattra Removed as Candidate for Dufferin Caledon Conservatives

Dufferin-Caledon | by Jill Young

Harzadan Singh Khattra was chosen to run as the Conservative candidate at a nomination meeting March 19th.

Following an appeal on the victory of Dufferin Caledon Federal Conservative nominee Harzadan Singh Khattra, he has reportedly been removed as the candidate.

Barb Shaughnessy, a fellow candidate and former Caledon Town Councillor, filed an appeal on Khattra's victory, not long after he won the vote March 19th.

Shaughnessy had concerns about membership buying and improper voting in the process.

It's not known what will happen next.

The party needed a replacement for Dufferin Caledon MP David Tilson who will not be running in this fall's election.
