The official Saugeen Shores Spring Cleaning Week may be halfway through (April 20-26) but there is still plenty of opportunities to get involved..
Town of Saugeen Shores Recreation Supervisor, Lisa Billings says the week sponsored by Eastlink, has brought out over 100 people who've signed up to clean-up areas, across the municipality.
She says because of winds and winter storms people might find garbage and debris in open areas and properties that have had a lot of development.
"As always there's also the beach, along the trails, and parks, they just tend to get built up and the snow covers everything, and it's not until the snow melts that we get to see what's out there."
Volunteers will be donning blue shirts and the Town has provided cleaning products such as bags and gloves and will dispose of collected items.
Billings invited anyone looking to help this weekend to head to the Rail Trail clean-up, this Saturday at the Southampton Memorial Gardens form 12-2 p.m.
