A local group of women are looking to bring joy to women's closets in support of the Women's Centre Grey Bruce.
Organizers of the Sparks Joy event held at Southampton's Elk and Finch April 25, 2019, are looking for new or gently used women's business attire to help women get back into the work force.
One of the organizers Alexanne Pizycki a Senior Manager at EMC Power Canada says with how fast the community is growing they wanted a chance to help "give their power back and spark joy with them on the next phase of their lives."
"We'll be taking new or gently used clothing for job interviews and names of people who can help at a later date with resume writing," says Pizycki.
The event is a open house style from 4-8 p.m., and people can drop-off clothing throughout the evening with appetizers served by event host, the Elk and Finch.
Speakers for the evening include Saugeen Shore Mayor Luke Charbonneau,Executive Coach Jackie Serviss, and Executive Director for the Women's Centre, Heather Fowler.
Event organizers also include Christy Kelly of the Investors Group and artist Margaux Bucher who are also collecting garments for those who cannot attend the event.
Pizycki says items can include scarves, formal coats, scarves and even newly purchased bras.
"It's anything for jobs, so really; suits, pant suits, dresses, blazers are a big hit for sure."
