Brockton has partnered in a venture that promises to draw more tourists.
Brockton is creating a tourism website that will be integrated into the Explore the Bruce platform, a site that generates approximately 700 thousand unique views a year.
Brockton Community Development Coordinator Paulette Peirol is very excited about the upcoming mid-May launch of the visitwalkerton.com site.
The visitwalkerton.com site will promote all tourism-related activities and businesses within the broader Walkerton area and Municipality of Brockton.
While staff would have preferred to name the site visitbrockton.ca, the web site name is consistent with the Explore the Bruce online platform which uses the urban names of the municipalities such as visitsaublebeach.ca visitwiarton.ca, or visitripley.ca.
As such Peirol says plans are also underway to launch a secondary site visitbrockton.ca as well.
The visitwalkerton.com site will include: Where to eat, where to sleep, where to play and where to stay.
She says editorial content, events listings, stories and photos from the visitwalkerton.com site will be shared and thus greatly expand Brockton’s audience and outreach.
Peirol says Brockton has so much to offer tourists including: key restaurants, first rate hotels, beautiful country inns, great paddling adventures as well as world renown fly fishing.
She says Brockton‘s hamlets also boast wonderful events and festivals including Cargill‘s sold out Greenock Swamp tours.
The beauty of Brockton‘s agricultural setting with the pristine Saugeen River running through it, says Periol make it an obvious tourist destination.
