Four Arrested in Port Elgin

Saugeen Shores Police say downtown investigation results in arrests of four wanted individuals.

Saugeen Shores Police say an investigation in downtown Port Elgin led to the arrest of four wanted individuals earlier this week.

Police say on Tuesday officers located a 36-year-old female and 29-year-old man, both known to be wanted for various offences, walking together in downtown Port Elgin.

Town Police say officers approached the two and took the male into custody, but when attempting to arrest the female she pulled away while swinging her arms.

Police say a struggle involving two uniform officers ensued and an off-duty cop had to assist to restrain the female and place her under arrest.

Police say no injuries were reported in the incident.

Both the male and female were found to be in possession of a small amount of crystal meth, drug paraphernalia, items believed to be stolen, gloves, a mask and a number of break-in tools.

The 36-year-old female faces numerous charges including possession of a controlled substance and resist peace officer, while the 29-year-old man also faces a number of offences including possession of methamphetamine and possession of break-in instruments.

Meanwhile, Saugeen Shores Police say a 36-year-old male and 19-year-old male were also wanted and arrested as a result of Tuesday's investigation downtown.
