Cause Determined for House Explosion

Shelburne Police have charged two people for making hash oil in home on Fleming Way.

Shelburne Police Service have laid charges against two Orangeville residents after a house explosion and fire.

December 3rd of 2018, emergency crews were called to Fleming Way in Shelburne after a house fire and explosion caused a giant hole in the side of a home.

An extensive investigation has taken place since then, and revealed that hash oil, which is also known as honey oil, was being produced.

The force of the explosion blew out entire windows, caused a fire which resulted in extensive damage in that house and for neighbouring ones.

Three people were injured and damage is estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. 

Drug production equipment, butane, and over 63 pounds of marijuana was seized.

42-year-old Alesandro Peter Sottile of Orangeville is charged with Arson, Mischief Endangering Life and drug production offences.

43 year old Manon Allard of Orangeville Allard is also charged with the same offences.

Both will appear in court later next month in Orangeville.
