Dirt Biker Attempts Fleeing From Police, Gets Stuck In Field

Huron East | by Peter Jackson

OPP say suspect's abandoned backpack contained break-in tools, and brass knuckles.

OPP got help from a property owner and a police canine unit, in arresting a man who tried to flee after allegedly running a stop sign near Seaforth.

Police say they tried to stop the suspect's dirt bike near Hensall Road and Tile Road on Tuesday, but the machine took off into a rural field.

The driver then ran from the scene, after the bike became bogged down in mud.

A search of the suspect's abandoned backpack revealed break-in tools and brass knuckles.

A 30 year-old man was rounded up two hours after OPP set up a containment area around the property.

He's charged with five offences including flight from police, and possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose.
