High Schools Officially Renamed In Port Elgin & Kincardine

Bruce County | by John Divinski

Name changes have been rubber-stamped & this fall two schools go from 'Secondary' to 'Senior.' will have new names.

It took less than 30-seconds for the Bluewater District School Board trustees to officially approve the renaming of high schools in Port Elgin and Kincardine.

So, come September, the school in Port Elgin will be known as the Saugeen District Senior School and the one in Kincardine will be known as the Kincardine District Senior School.

The name change comes to reflect the introduction of Grades 7 and 8 students to both schools.

A couple of weeks ago, the board's Committee of the Whole approved the name changes, and Tuesday's approval was really just a rubber stamp acceptance of the move, we reported to you on April 3rd.
