Police Say No Activity At Exeter Schools, Following Threat To SHDHS

Exeter | by Fadi Didi

OPP confirm "uneventful" day, following threat made against the South Huron DHS.

Police say activity was "uneventful" outside two Exeter schools, following a threat made earlier in the week.

Police were alerted Monday to a potential threat, which was said to take place Wednesday at South Huron District High School.

The nature of the threat was not revealed by police or school officials, although SHDHS said in a statement, "police have "narrowed their search for the source of the threat."

In response, SHDHS officials say increased police presence would be provided outside the secondary school, along with Exeter Elementary School.

OPP Constable Jamie Stanley confirmed to Country 104.9 News the force's school resource officer attended the scene, along with addition units.

Fortunately, he reports nothing transpired.

According to Stanley, attendance may have dropped for the day, but he is uncertain as to the degree.

No word from police or school officials regarding the nature of the threat, or who made it.
