The chosen site for the Wasaga Beach casino now has to go through the planning process.
The town says its Director of Building and Development Standards, Danny Rodgers, will be overseeing the town’s development review team and that the team will be looking at the site plan and building permit applications for the casino.
A news released issued by the town also states that the property near the Beachwood Road roundabout currently has site plan approval for a commercial outdoor mall.
To accommodate the casino, an application to amend the existing site plan agreement
is needed to address entrances, vehicle routes, parking and landscaping.
A public meeting is not necessary under the Planning Act.
This process is expected to take two to four months.
The opening of the casino is slated for summer 2020.
