Grey Bruce Real Estate Market Activity Down in March

Number of units sold declines year-over-year, average prices slightly higher

Residential real estate activity in Grey-Bruce-Owen Sound was below average in March.

The Realtors Association Grey Bruce Owen Sound says 172 residential units sold last month, a decrease of 11.3 per cent compared to March 2018.

Prices still treaded higher on a year-over-year basis to an average of just over $353,000, up 5.3 per cent from March 2018.

The realtors association says supply continues to remain near all-time lows with just 308 new residential listings in March, a decline of 21.8 per cent year-over-year. It was the lowest supply of new listings in March since 1993.

In all, the dollar value of home sales in the region in March was $60.8-million, a 9.7 per cent decline year-over-year.

The total value of all properties sold last month actually increased compared to March 2018, the realtors association reports, to $81.4-million -- 6.8 per cent higher than last year.
