Winning Students

More local students have done very well at the recent Simcoe County science fair.

More local students have done very well at the recent Simcoe County science fair.

Simcoe County District School Board students took home over 60 medals including eight gold.

Best of Earth and Environment Sciences went to Owen Hammond and Broc Pasma of Admiral Collingwood elementary school for their project on natural disaster proof buildings.

A Collingwood Collegiate Institute student, Rohan Mehta, won in the best of computer and engineering sciences category for automating the detection and probability of wildfires.

And six SCDSB students, from Barrie North CI, Bear Creek SS, Collingwood CI and Mountain View ES, have been chosen to attend the Canada-Wide Science Fair happening May 11 to 17 in Fredericton.

Earlier this week, we told you about students at Pretty River Academy in Collingwood taking home 31 awards at the recent Simcoe County Science and Technology Fair.
