Sylvia Jones Named Ontario Solicitor General

The Dufferin Caledon MPP and Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, is now Solicitor General.

Dufferin-Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones has a new title at Queen's Park.

Jones, who is the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, has been sworn in as Solicitor General.

Premier Doug Ford issued a statement saying it's time to honour our proud history in Ontario by returning to the title of Solicitor General which was used up until 2002.

The Solicitor General and the Ministry of the Solicitor General were traditionally responsible for activities related to law enforcement, the supervision of policing services across Ontario, and other activities related to community safety.
