The Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Foundation in Goderich is assured of a second $750 thousand commitment to help purchase a new CT scanner, and renovate the hospital's mental health unit.
The amount is included in the newly-passed Huron County budget, and will be paid out over seven years at $150 thousand a year.
In March, the Town of Goderich approved a 10 year commitment to donate $750 thousand toward the project.
The Foundation had originally requested $1 million over 10 years from the town, but Mayor John Grace says they weren't quite able to get to that level.
He says $750 thousand is a responsible amount, and that Council could not go any lower.
Grace says Goderich continues its commitment to locally-based health care with the donation.
