Collingwood Elvis Festival could be all shook up.

Collingwood | by Catherine Thompson

Staff recommendation calls for the festival to be turned over to a private operator.

The future of the Collingwood Elvis Festival is up for discussion at a Collingwood council committee meeting.

There is a staff recommendation on this agenda that council discontinue the Collingwood Elvis Festival as a municipally-managed event following the 2019 edition.

The motion goes on to recommend that council supports the transition of the event to a private operator.

If approved, the resources currently allocated to the festival would to transferred to initiatives that support the Community Based Strategic Plan, specifically to support and expand the diversity of community events and festivals.
