Smash And Grabs In Markdale

OPP say two vehicles' windows were smashed and purses stolen from each of them.

Grey County OPP say are looking for suspects after a smash and grab from two vehicles.

Police say they were called at about 11 Thursday morning (March 28) to the Markdale Community Centre parking lot on Walker Street.

They say sometime between 9:50 a.m. and 10:55 a.m. unknown person(s) smashed a window of each vehicle to access a purse left inside the vehicle.

Police say the stolen purses contained personal identification, credit cards and cash.

Anyone with information which may assist is asked to call Grey County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a secure web-tip at www.cstip.ca, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2000.

Police remind the public not to leave valuables inside the vehicle that are in plain view. These are crimes of opportunity and may be avoided.
