Police say three-month-old baby girl was severely injured

Provincial Police have charged the parents of an infant as a result of a child abuse investigation.

Bruce Peninsula OPP say on March 23 officers were called to investigate in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula where a three-month-old baby girl had suffered severe injuries.

As a result, police arrested and charged both parents with aggravated assault and fail to provide necessaries of life to a child.

OPP say the accused were released on a recognizance after a bail hearing and are scheduled to return to court on April 18.

Police have not named the accused as a publication ban is in place for the court proceedings.
