Getting an Early Start on Road Work

Huron County recently awarded contracts to companies, several roads, a bridge, and a culvert will be worked on this year.

Contractors will be busy across Huron County this spring and summer, improving several roads and a bridge, and replacing a culvert.

Several Huron County roads and a bridge are in line for improvements and a culvert will be replaced this summer, through contracts awarded to several companies.

Lavis (LAY'-vis) Contracting will resurface County Road 11 from Highway 23 to Perth Line 17 in South Huron at a cost of $2.6 million, and work on a $2.3 million job to upgrade Kippen Road in Seaforth.

MSO Construction of Clinton has won a $557 thousand job, to resurface County Road 7 between County Roads 4 and 30 east of Wingham.

The contract to upgrade the Tri-County Bridge near Grand Bend goes to Weathertech Restoration Services of Dorchester for $837 thousand.

And -- Van Driel Excavating will replace a culvert on County Road 86 west of Lucknow, on a $382 thousand contract.

Work on all projects is expected to start shortly.
